Using Genomics

Research Methods

Various methods are used to study the genetic profile of different species. For instance, if you want to know whether two plants are of the same species, you can analyze the number of chromosomes in each one, or compare the different proteins they produce using electrophoresis.

Using laser technology and computer visioning, it is now possible to turn the data obtained through electrophoresis into curved graphs, making it easier to study and compare results. This technique is called electrophorogramesis.
